Holiday closing
All branches of the Volusia County Public Library will be closed on Monday, September 6, 2010.
Branch closure
The Orange City Library will close from 1 pm on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 through
1 pm on Monday, September 13, 2010.
Author talk & book signing
Steven Noll and David Tegeder will be discussing their book, Ditch of Dreams which recounts the story of the Cross-Florida Barge Canal and how the project aimed to cut a canal across the Florida peninsula to reduce shipping times and bring commerce to Florida.
September 18, 2010 at 2 pm, New Smyrna Beach Library. The event is free and open to the public. A book signing will follow the talk.
Steven Noll is senior lecturer in history at the University of Florida. David Tegeder is associate professor of history at Santa Fe College.
