The Library will bring, display, and demonstrate some of the exciting, fun technology that is available in the Library MakerSpaces, called LaunchPads. We will have Ozobots, Little Bits and VR glasses on hand and information about all the other equipment available in our LaunchPads.
We will be there Monday, September 24 and Tuesday, September 25 from 9 am to 7 pm*.

* 9 am to 2 pm - area K-12 field trips only;
2 pm to 7 pm - general public. Adults (19 and older) - $10.00 admission; Children (18 and under) - free admission.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten Program
Join this exciting program for children
ages 0 to 5. Read a book (any book) to your newborn,
infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes you can repeat books) before your precious one starts kindergarten. Enroll at your local branch!

Online tutorials for digital resources!
The Volusia County Public Library uses Niche Academy to provide online tutorials for some of our most popular digital services. These tutorials will walk you all the way through the process with the goal of providing a satisfying experience using the library's digital resources.
Niche Academy tutorials provide up-to-date information and include:
- Video instruction
- Printable step-by-step guides
- A mobile-responsive user interface
Click the green "Digital Library" tab located in the menu above and select the tutorials in either "eBooks, eAudio, magazines, movies & music" or "Research databases".
Call for artists - Transition Earthsea
The Volusia County Public Library, as part of the 2019 National Endowment for the Arts NEA Big Read grant award, is including the element of art to expand their local programming.
Show title: Transition Earthsea
Artwork must clearly reflect on the 1968 fantasy novel “A Wizard of Earthsea” by American Author Ursula K. Le Guin or the theme growing from childhood to adulthood, Artists will provide a written statement expressing how each of their artworks connects with the book.
