The award-winning author’s son, Rick Smith, a professional media producer and avid fan of his father’s work, will be presenting a high energy, multimedia experience about his famous father, his life, and the experiences that led him to write his books. Rick’s show combines his own quirky brand of humor and storytelling with videos, family photos, music, sound and visual effect to bring Patrick D. Smith’s colorful life into focus.

In 2002 Patrick D. Smith, author of seven novels and two nonfiction works (one as co-author), was the recipient of the Florida Historical Society's Fay Schweim Award as the "Greatest Living Floridian." The one-time-only award was established to honor the one individual who has contributed the most to Florida in recent history. In June 2013, Smith was selected as one of the Great Floridians. Governor Rick Scott and his wife personally came to his home to give him this award. Patrick Smith passed away on January 26, 2014.
